Description:

The Wakatipu “Wonderland” was an Architecturally designed Modern home that we were engaged to design the full interior architecture from the outset with an overarching brief to create a warm, welcoming forever home, for a recently retired, young couple. It was essential we catered for their immediate and extended family with partners and grandchildren. Another major requirement was to create a highly functional, flowing space between the kitchen, scullery, workstation and outdoor entertaining and dining areas. Centre stage in the kitchen is the striking Island in Grey basalt, looking more like a piece of furniture.

Featuring mitered edges that run seamlessly along the benchtop with strong Architectural exterior elements to emanate mountain shapes outside are subtly pulled into the island angles. Which were a pre-requisite by the clients to bring the outside in. The view was so encapsulating it was imperative that this was taken into account with all aspect of the design.

While a rich, yet soft black Fenix Nero Ingo creates a moody, mysterious ambience – further enhanced with stunning Brass Pendant Lights carefully positioned over the dining table not to obscure the stunning view and to work seamlessly within the beautiful surroundings.

DARK COLOUR DESIGN CONSIDERATION

Putting dark colour benchtops and cabinetry panels into direct sunlight applications can affect the substrate performance in terms of product movement.
