Discover the secrets of sintered stone

A new natural stone

Lapitec is composed entirely of the following precious natural materials, in a silica-free formulation.

After two decades of meticulous research and development, we have successfully recreated and enhanced the natural wonders that take millions of years to form. From a valuable selection of minerals, we obtain a powder that, when mixed exclusively with water and processed in our facilities in Italy, gives rise to large-format, high-performance slabs.

Lapitec has received a number of prestigious international awards from the world of design and architecture.

Why Lapitec?

Lapitec® is:

  • Made by Breton (a 60-year-old Stone machinery business) in Vedelago, Italy – just north of Verona, the home of many natural stone quarries.
  • Made using the waste minerals from natural stone mining at the local quarries.
  • 100% Silica Free – Crystalline Silica free and the only stone product certified by Work Safe Australia, protecting our fabricators from silicosis.
  • ‘Full-bodied’ – the colour and veining is all the way through the slab – and not just a photograph on the top of the slab with contrasting non matched core.
  • Available in large format slabs of 3440mm x 1540mm – this is the trimmed and usable size, after the de-tensioning cut around the outside of the slab has been done.
  • Available in New Zealand in 12mm and 20mm thickness – 20mm for horizontal surfaces and 12mm for vertical applications.
  • Fabricated by ‘Lapitec® Approved Fabricators’ only – businesses and people that are highly experienced and have received specific training on this product by APT and Lapitec®.
  • Supported by a 25 Year Product Warranty – because Lapitec® and APT stand behind this brand, to give you and your clients enhanced peace of mind.
  • Available NOW in a curated and NZ stocked range of gorgeous solid colours (ESSENZA Collection) and elegant, veined options (MUSA Collection), in a range of finishes.

DARK COLOUR DESIGN CONSIDERATION

Putting dark colour benchtops and cabinetry panels into direct sunlight applications can affect the substrate performance in terms of product movement.
