Formerly known as Evolution of Surfaces Ltd – the New Zealand and Pacific Island distributor of Corian® – we are growing and evolving at a significant rate.
We have extended our portfolio to include FENIX NTM® and FENIX NTA® surfaces – all designed and manufactured in Italy.
As well as strong growth in high value residential housing, we are steadily increasing our sales in the commercial market with hotels, medical and shop fitting.
We now bring you the best Architectural Products and Technologies – and to reflect this, we have rebranded to APT. Same people, with the same vision and values, but a broader and more exciting view of what we do and how we do it.

Our sustainability commitment is known as APT Tiaki. Tiaki can be translated as “to protect” or “to care” for a place and its people. We pledge to protect and preserve our land, and APT Tiaki represents that promise.
The most important APT Tiaki initiative is our partnership with Native Forest Restoration Trust (NFRT). We are committed to planting – and protecting – one native tree in New Zealand for every Corian® Solid Surface sheet, sink & basin, and every FENIX® sheet, panel & sink sold. In addition to this, a native tree will be planted for every product delivery.
Since the start of the partnership in November 2021, thousands of native trees have been funded for planting and protection in an NFRT reserve.
About Us
Established in 2013, we are a vision and values driven, small (but rapidly growing) business. We believe that our success comes about through the success of our chosen customers and business partners. It’s all about working together, doing things exceptionally well, innovating, and having some fun along the way.
APT customers include specifiers (architects, interior designers, kitchen and bathroom designers), fabricators, commercial fit-out companies, manufacturers, joiners, developers and consumers. We don’t work with everyone (and we don’t want to) – just those who buy into our vision and get the concept of partnership.
We are well connected globally especially in Europe. Our strong networks provide us and our clients with great insights and opportunities. Essentially, we are working local but engaging in global thinking with regard to our approach and strategies.
Both Directors are hands on in setting and delivering the APT business strategies and plans. They have extensive experience in the building industry, and are supported by a great team that are also considered to be experts in their field. At last count we have over 100 years of combined industry experience…
Aaron Carpenter

With more than 24 years experience in the building, furniture and joinery industries, Aaron (known affectionately as ‘Bart’) has had a number of senior leadership roles around New Zealand. During his long career he has specialised in sales and architectural specification, technical support and distribution. Bart is passionate about this industry, our customers success and the concept of ‘better never stops’.
Nicky Duggan
Owner
Starting with a degree in Architecture in the mid ‘90s, Nicky was then hired by Lion Breweries to market and sell beer. The lure of the building industry proved too strong however, and she returned to a range of senior roles at Carter Holt Harvey and Fletcher Building (along the way getting involved in the start-up of Hell Pizza). After more than 17 years in the wider industry, Nicky retains her passion for marketing, innovation, and clever design as well as sales leadership and specification.
